Pottery sugar bowl salt cellar jar with lid, ceramic lidded storage jar
This ceramic sugar bowl salt cellar jar is wheel thrown stoneware clay. Thrown with sloping sides to a wide flared rim, a well defined foot ring completes the bottom. The lid was thrown upside down, turned right side up after it was stiff and a looped handle added. Glazed in textured matte tan. A resist technique of hot glue squeezed onto the outside was used before dipping into the glaze resulting in a swirly, ribbon effect of dark brown unglazed clay. Fully glazed on the inside except where the lid sits. The tan glaze has a slightly rough texture. About 5" tall with the lid and 4.5" wide at the widest point. Holds about 14 oz.
Non toxic glaze is dishwasher safe. Use this jar for sugar, sweetener or creamer by the coffee pot, on the counter, Kosher salt by the stove, or in the bathroom for things like cotton balls and swabs.
